Buy a drink and get free food. What’s not to like?

It might sound too good to be true, but in fact, this is extremely common in Rome. Many bars will have a free buffet laid out in the evenings for anyone who buys a drink. This is known as an Aperitivo and is an Italian favourite.

We certainly recommend trying an Aperitivo to really get a feel for the local culture. One of our favourite destinations for this is Trastevere, a beautiful neighbourhood with a fantastic array of great local bars and restaurants. Why not check out our Trastevere tour?
